Born in America to a family of Chinese immigrants, Baizhu's household was struck by illness when he was sixteen. They couldn't afford the medical care they needed, so he did his best to tend his parents himself until he, too, became too sick to help them. All three of them died, but only the teenage son was approached by a white snake spirit, who promised to give him the strength to keep going, and to save others from the same fate, as long as he was willing to pay the price of it.

He accepted. Since she either didn't have a name or didn't remember it, he took to calling her Chevy after a dragon in a comic he'd been reading at the time. For a few months he was able to get by as an emancipated minor since he was only a couple years from adulthood and had good grades; but then strange people started showing up asking questions around the neighborhood. Fearing deportation despite his citizenship, he started asking around his community for legal help, and ended up getting redirected to illegal help instead, in the form of Hua Cheng and his network.

He learned that the Black Order were the ones after him, and his best bet at this point was to accept help in fleeing the country. With little to lose and no desire to get trapped in serving the Order's goals, he took them up on the offer. Most of the next sixteen years of his life were spent moving from place to place, doing his best to study traditional medicine and using his powers to make himself useful to various criminal organizations. His sheer usefulness as a healer was enough to ensure that people wanted him kept alive and even to give him a bit of negotiating power, so despite a few desperate situations, he hasn't been too badly off in comparison to where he knows he might have wound up.

A month or so after the fall of the Black Order's headquarters, he heard the rumors that Kaisou might be a safe place to settle at last, and on reaching out discovered that he had a distant cousin there who wanted to retire and hand over his pharmacy to someone. Everything lined up so perfectly, how could he refuse to come and see for himself?

Baizhu has long green hair, which falls to his waist even when braided and pinned up. His eyes are yellow-orange, with vertical pupils like a snake's. He has pale skin and a slender build, giving off a general air of frailty, like someone who simply can't get out very much. He wears glasses and puts his hair up with traditional ornamental sticks, and otherwise dresses in professional modern clothes.

Since arriving in Kaisou, he's developed draconic features: fangs, a snake-like tongue, patches of white-scaled skin, and most recently horns and a tail.

Dendro Vision: Fully powered up with his canon skill, burst, elemental imbuement, and passive.
Plant Growth (Medium): Can encourage plant growth and allow plants to grow twice as fast as normal.

Demon Form: Can temporarily change into a snake-demon version of himself. Aesthetic only. Chevy swears she didn't do it.
Monster Transformation: Dragon (Currently only snake-like traits, Chevy still swears it's not her fault)

Lucky Charm - High - Blessed with constant luck whenever carrying the ship paperweight. When you take an action that requires a roll, roll four dice and pick the highest roll. Does not affect mod rolls.
Create Gemstones - Low - Can make ring-sized gemstones out of clumps of earth in your hand, as long as you're holding the paperweight in the other. What kind of gem depends on the material used.

Dart Fans: A pair of hand fans that can be used as weapons. They also have darts that will shoot out of them for long range attacks. Baizhu is using them as a catalyst with his Vision. (gacha stars)

Animal Beauty Mask: A package of mundane beauty masks with animal faces printed on them. (ggb)
Magic Idol Costume: Can magically change into an idol costume which vaguely resembles his canon outfit. Costume improves his singing and dancing skills and may cause musical numbers. (ggb)
Insulting Tarot Cards: A beautiful set of tarot cards, but whenever you do a reading words will appear that'll insult the person the reading is for. (ggb)
Merchant Ship Paperweight: A Christmas gift from Zhongli. It grants Lucky Charm (High) and Create Gemstones (Low) if he's carrying it around. It's also a solid gold paperweight, which makes carrying it around rather difficult.
Chocolate Dragon: It looks like a statue of a dragon, but it's actually chocolate. (ggb)
Cowboy Hat: A stylish cowboy hat. It goes well with a lot of outfits (ggb)
Coffee Frog: A coffee maker that's also a frog that'll come to you when called so you are always near a fresh pot of coffee. (ggb)
